Don Booher, President LTAC and VP, Ancillary Businesses Direct Division

Don has a diverse background consisting of Lending, Banking and Title Insurance.  This diversity allows him to give insights to the entire Real Estate process.  His understanding of the needs from Realtors, Lenders and Banks allowed Stewart Title to design a process that makes all aspects of a transaction run smoothly.

Don has experience in REO, Bank Auction, Short Sale, Commercial, Refinance and residential resale.  Don's common sense approaches have helped real-estate and mortgage professional gain insight into the understanding of market pressures and allowed them the ability to use this knowledge for increased market share.

Don and Stewart Title have reached out with many educational initiatives that help Real Estate and Mortgage professionals remain compliant and profitable in a rapidly changing real estate environment.  Don believes in continuing education for himself and all members of his team.  This keeps him abreast of market news, trends and regulations.  This also offers opportunity to assist clients with the new regulations, and put his team in the position to lead, not to follow.  

 

 

Derek Booth,  U.S. Secret Service Special Agent 

 

U.S. Secret Service Special Agent Derek Booth is a founding member and coordinator of the Mountain West Cyber Fraud Task Force which includes 350+ members of federal, state and local law enforcement, network security personnel, and private business owners in the Rocky Mountain Region.  The task force’s mission is to investigate & deter cybercrime in the Mountain West states including Ransomware attacks, Business Email Compromise & Crypto scams, and Computer & Cellphone Forensic support for local law enforcement.  Derek became a full-time computer & cellphone geek in 2012 after spending his first 13 years on the job protecting a plethora of dignitaries including President George W. Bush and family full-time.

 

 Bradley Erb,  Bowe Digital

 Bradley Erb is the Vice President of Growth & Partnerships at Bowe Digital, a custom marketing firm specializing in the land title and real estate industry. With more than 5 years of experience in this industry, Bradley helps best position Bowe Digital for growth through title industry education, understanding agent needs, cultivating vendor relationships and attending numerous industry conferences and events.  Bradley shares his ideas for the industry broadly by speaking at American Land Title Association events, underwriter seminars, state land title association conferences and more. He recently received Bowe Digital's internal MVP award and has completed the Alex Halff Leadership Institute through the Texas Land Title Association. Outside of Bowe Digital, you'll find Bradley spending time with his two sons and family playing games, Pickleball, traveling and much more.

 

 

Mark Fleming, Chief Claims Counsel, Stewart Title Guaranty Company

Mark Fleming serves as the senior vice president for Decision Science and chief economist for First American Financial Corporation, a leading provider of title insurance, settlement services and risk solutions for real estate transactions that traces its heritage back to 1889. In his role, he leads an economics team responsible for analysis, commentary and forecasting trends in the real estate, mortgage and title insurance markets.

 Fleming’s research interests primarily include real estate and urban economics, data science and insurance market structure. He has published research in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Structured Finance and Geographic Information Sciences. He has presented his research at academic association meetings and has also been published in the book, “Advances in Spatial Econometrics.” Fleming is a 6-time (2018-2023) Pulsenomics Home Price Expectations Survey Crystal Ball awardee, has testified before Congress and is the author of six U.S. patents.  

 As a trusted and influential voice with more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage and property information business, Fleming is frequently quoted by national news outlets and industry trade publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg News and Housing Wire and he is a frequent guest on high-profile broadcast news channels, including Yahoo Finance, Reuters News, CNBC, Fox Business News and NPR. Fleming regularly contributes commentary and analysis to the First American Econ Center blog and co-hosts a top-rated biweekly podcast, REconomy, that focuses on timely topics in real estate.

 Before joining First American, he developed insights and analytical products for CoreLogic, and property valuation models at Fannie Mae. Fleming graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master of Science and a doctorate in agricultural and resource economics and holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Swarthmore College. He lives and works in the Washington, D.C. area.





Steve Gottheim, General Counsel, American Land Title Association

Steve is general counsel for the American Land Title Association. In that role he provides strategic advice to the association's leadership, executive staff and various departments and programs. Steve leads public policy development for the association at the federal level and is the industry’s main liaison with federal agencies, state regulators and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

A seasoned professional with more than 15 years of experience in the financial services arena, Steve has demonstrated success in numerous legislative and regulatory affairs leadership roles including with the implementation of Dodd-Frank rules, TRID and FinCEN’s geographic targeting orders.  Additionally, Steve previously worked as a legal fellow for Senator Chris Dodd on the Senate Banking Committee. He is a recognized authority on the topics of federal consumer financial laws including RESPA, TILA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley, the ALTA Title Insurance & Settlement Company Best Practices and market conditions in the title insurance and settlement service industry.

A native of Albany, NY, Steve received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland. He graduated with degrees in political science and history from the University of Maryland. 

 

Robert Howe, President, Title Company of the Rockies

Robert Howe has been the President of the Title Company of the Rockies (TCR), an independent title agency dedicated to the Colorado High Country, since 2002. TCR maintains direct operations in Denver Metro, Eagle, Garfield, Grand, Moffat, Pitkin, Routt and Summit Counties and the adjoining mountain region. TCR has branch locations in Aspen, Breckenridge, Craig (dba Northwest Title Company), Eagle, Edwards, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Grand Lake, Leadville, Rifle, Steamboat Springs, Willits, Winter Park, and Parker.


Title Company of the Rockies is a member of the ET Investments family of title agencies which is proudly headquartered in Colorado. With affiliated sister agencies, we have offices in several Western states, including Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Texas, and Wyoming. Bob grew up in a small southwest Minnesota farm town and is a graduate of Macalester College and William Mitchell College of Law. With over 25 years of real estate experience, that background includes being a partner in a law practice, establishing title insurance agencies, and was a founding shareholder and the Executive Vice President of a national platform for distressed real estate asset management and technology systems (acquired by Fidelity National Financial in 2000, now a division of Black Knight Financial Services). Mr. Howe also has professional experience with a national direct marketing company, the financial services industry, and the film industry.


Professional affiliations include being a past president of the Land Title Association of Colorado and long-time board and committee member, American Land Title Association committees, former Vice Chairman of the Colorado Division of Insurance’s Title Insurance Advisory Council and its Regulatory Working Groups, Colorado Secretary of State 2017 Task Force on Remote Online Notarization, Governor appointed to the Colorado Electronic Recording Technology Board in 2019, and is an affiliate member of the Colorado Bar Association and its real estate section. Mr. Howe currently maintains an attorney license with the State of Minnesota and a title insurance license with the State of Colorado. He is an accomplished author and speaker, and teaches numerous accredited real estate courses to attorneys, brokers, and lenders in Colorado.  Bob resides in Edwards, and greatly enjoys living the Colorado mountain lifestyle.

Matt Lee, Pax8

Matt Lee has dedicated the last 13 years to raising the cyber security tide in the SMB, and MSP markets. His efforts have served in every capacity in a growing MSP that grew to support 20,000 endpoints. His leadership around technology direction, and security/compliance, protected and elevated over 17,000 people in Small to midsize businesses in five states. He has since taken on a deep role as a force multiplier as the Security and Compliance Senior Director at Pax8. He is driving the external thought leadership to empower MSPs to continue to grow in their security knowledge, operability, and capabilities. He is a known speaker, and subject matter focused contributor to Zero Trust, Framework Centric Security Program approaches, and one of the chief editors on a new project classifying ISV, SaaS, and Service Providers along the CIS Framework taxonomy.  He lives to ensure his children maintain the same quality of life we do around technology, which is imperiled daily by threat actors.

 

 Jewel Quintyne,  Professional Services Team Manager, Qualia

Jewel Quintyne is a real estate attorney licensed in New York, Georgia, and Alabama, with a background in the Title & Escrow industry spanning local, regional, and national levels. At Qualia, she is the Professional Services Team Manager, where she oversees a team dedicated to guiding Enterprise-level organizations through platform transitions, business optimization, and the development of efficient workflows. Her consulting expertise covers operational efficiency, process and reporting design, and change management for title and escrow companies nationwide. Prior to Qualia, Jewel supported JV clients at McMichael & Gray and was integral to Opendoor’s southeastern expansion and operational management.

 

 Julia Reyburn,  Consultant, J Reyburn and Co LTD

Julia provides consulting services to improve wire fraud resilience and growth for companies involved in real estate settlements. Her clients include title companies, software vendors, and expert networks. 

Since 2015, Julia has been passionate about improving the the real estate ecosystem. Her roles have included: Director at wire fraud security company, CertifID; Senior Manager at Redfin’s title company, Title Forward; and real estate agent and trainer at Redfin. Fraudsters spoofed Julia to home buyers she represented in 2016, who nearly lost their life savings. This close call ignited her passion for keeping consumers and industry participants safe from this growing threat.

Prior to the US, Julia lived in Australia, where she worked as a management consultant and mechanical engineer. Julia holds a Master of Business Administration (Australian Graduate School of Management) and Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) (Queensland University of Technology).

 

David Townsend,  President Elect, ALTA and Midwest/MidSouth/Southwest/West Agency Manager Fidelity National Financial

David Townsend, Senior Vice President, oversees agency sales and operations for 34 states. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law and Drury University and has many years of experience in the areas of real estate and title law. He has taught Title Insurance Practice at the University of Missouri School of Law and is a speaker for October Research, LLC, American Land Title Association (ALTA), Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), and other continuing education seminars. He is a current member of the American Land Title Association’s Board of Governors and is the President Elect. 

Townsend authored the Missouri Bar Insurance Practice Series: “Title Insurance” and the Missouri Bar Journal article “Mechanics Lien Law: Section 429.016 establishes New Notice Requirements.”  He’s been recognized as the Missouri Land Title Your Title Professional for 2009 and received the National Title Professional designation in 2013 by the American Land Title Association.  Prior to Fidelity National Financial, David founded Agents National Title Insurance. He is married to Kerry Townsend, has one daughter, Blair and one son, Charlie, and lives in Columbia, Missouri.

 

 Leslie Wyatt,  Director of Regulatory Compliance, SoftPro

Leslie Wyatt is the Director of Regulatory Compliance at SoftPro.  She began her career in the real estate industry over 20 years ago and joined SoftPro in 2002.  She currently oversees the Compliance Department with her primary focus being on regulatory issues at the Federal, state and county levels.   

Leslie is a member of the ALTA Implementation Task Force, the Title Action Network Steering Committee, the ALTA Government Affairs Committee, the ALTA Membership Committee (Mentorship Subcommittee), the ALTA Education Committee, the ALTA Our Values Committee, the HOP Committee, the TLTA Federal Issues Committee.  She has represented ALTA at a congressional briefing regarding the CFPB and the TRID changes.  Leslie travels though out country speaking on our industry’s hot topics with a focus on market trends, mentorship and leadership, AI in the Title Industry, the next generation of title experts, FinCEN and regulatory and compliance.
